CYCC 2026 Qualifier Tournaments
Toronto Chess Club is hosting 5 CYCC Qualifier tournaments on the last two Sundays of each month from April-June at Lorvale Academy’s Markham and Oakville Campuses starting on April 26! The Canadian Youth Chess Championships are the premier annual tournament for young Canadian chess players, and these tournaments will serve not only as a great opportunity for competitive play and a place to work on players’ CFC ratings, but also as a chance to qualify for CYCC 2026 in July. Come out and improve your skills, and you might end up qualifying for CYCC!

| • WHAT: | Sunday morning: 5-round CFC Quick Rated (15 mins + 10 secs/move increment) |
| • WHERE: | Lorvale Academy Oakville: 373 Wyecroft Rd., Oakville, ON L6K 2H2 Lorvale Academy Markham: 101-7550 Birchmount Rd., Markham, ON L3R 6C6 Free parking and wheelchair access available at both locations. |
| • ENTRY FEE: | $50 CAD per event |
| • PRIZES: | Top 3 medals plus 25% of tournament entries divided as cash prizes between each section. All players with a score of 2.5/5 or higher will qualify for CYCC 2026. |
| • RATING: | CFC Quick Rated. All players must have a valid CFC ID to play. Free IDs are available and a paid CFC membership is not required. |
| • ROUND TIMES: | Arrival at 9:40 am, no check-in required. No round default time. Round 1: 10:00 am Round 2: 11:00 am Round 3: 12:00 pm Round 4: 1:30 pm Round 5: 2:30 pm Closing ceremonies will begin as soon as round 5 is completed. |
