Toronto Chess Club is hosting CYCC Qualifier tournaments on the last Sunday of each month from March-June at Lorvale Academy’s Oakville Campus starting on March 29! The Canadian Youth Chess Championships are the premier annual tournament for young Canadian chess players, and these tournaments will serve not only as a great opportunity for competitive play and a place to work on players’ CFC ratings, but also as a chance to qualify for CYCC 2026 in July. Come out and improve your skills, and you might end up qualifying for CYCC!

• Sunday morning: 5-round CFC Quick Rated (15 mins + 10 secs/move increment)

• Lorvale Academy, 373 Wyecroft Rd., Oakville, ON L6K 2H2 (free parking and wheelchair access available)

• CFC Quick Rated. All players must have a valid CFC ID to play. Free IDs are available and a paid CFC membership is not required.

• 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm (arrival at 9:40 am, no check-in required). No round default time.

• Up to 3 sections will be divided by rating based on ratings of the entrants. Section cutoffs will be adjusted as needed.

• All chess equipment will be provided.

• Top 3 medals plus 3/2/1 free classes for chess lessons @ Lorvale Academy for each section. All players with a score of 2.5/5 or higher will qualify for CYCC 2026.
